BigHit Entertainment was scheduled to hold a public company briefing with reporters, guests, and fans on Tuesday, but they ultimately decided to cancel due to the coronavirus.

BigHit originally planned to discuss the phenomenal growth that they’ve seen in 2019, as well as the future plans for the company in the new year. Instead of gathering a large group of people into an event hall, they decided to film the briefing and upload it for everyone to see on YouTube.

They claimed the recent spread of the coronavirus was cause of concern for the reporters and fans’ safety and health.

The coronavirus scare has everyone in the world on high alert as 26 countries have already confirmed cases of the infection. The virus causes the patient to be severely sick and may lead to possible death. The virus is also highly contagious, which makes large public events highly risky, especially in areas close to China where the virus was first confirmed.

Hello. This is BigHit Entertainment.

As the coronavirus has been spreading, it’s become difficult to meet with the reporters, guests, and fans for the  ‘BigHit’s Company Briefing With The Community’ that was supposed to be held on Tuesday, February 4.

We had planned to explain our growth from the previous year and our plans for the new year to the reporters, but we believe that everyone’s health and safety is top priority.

Instead, we will be filming the company briefing internally and share it with everyone. We wil upload the video on Wednesday, February 5, under the Big Hit Labels YouTube channel. We will send out an additional email with the link and further information.

We ask for understanding from the reporters who had signed up for our event. Thank you.
