Billboard Announces SHINee’s “View” as Most Watched K-Pop Video Worldwide in May
SHINee’s music video for “View” has been ranked number one in Billboard‘s “Most Viewed K-pop Videos in America & Around the World: May 2015.”
This music video has gained an explosive amount of views in the last month and also charted first place on YouTube‘s “K-pop Music Video TOP 10.”
Billboard wrote, “The boy band’s new video for ‘View’ was the most watched K-pop vid of May 2015, their first Korean video in a year and a half. The quintet proved their power on YouTube earlier this year when SHINee member Jonghyun earned January’s top-viewed visual.”
It continued, “BoA also made her long-awaited return to the K-pop scene with “Who Are You” at No. 2 across the board, along with a No. 5 ranking on both lists for her single “Kiss My Lips.” Before the pair of videos, BoA hadn’t released a K-pop video since January 2013,” and showed the superiority of other SM Entertainment artists in addition to SHINee.
Moreover, SHINee’s fourth full-album “Odd” dominated Gaon Charts during May, proving that not only is their music videos performing well, but their songs have also captured the hearts of many listeners.
Their popularity continues to skyrocket as they have won first place on “M!Countdown,” “Music Bank,” “Music Core,” “Inkigayo,” Show Champion,” “The Show,” and more with “View.”
