With the main 2021 Billboard Music Awards ceremony set to air in just hours, many of the category winners have already been announced in an Instagram live pre-show—and BTS is a multi-award winner!

Last month, BTS made history in the United States as the first South Korean artist to receive four Billboard Music Awards nominations in one year. The group earned nods for Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Selling Song, and Top Social Artist.

First off, BTS takes home the award for Top Duo/Group, beating out Maroon 5, AC/DC, AJR, and Dan + Shay. This is BTS’s second time winning the award, which they first won in 2019.

Second, BTS also won the award for Top Song Sales Artist for the first time. They were nominated against other world stars such as Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd, and Morgan Wallen.

Last but not least, BTS’s final award of the pre-ceremony was Top Social Artist—the only fan-voted award in the group’s nomination list this year. This marks a staggering fifth year in a row that BTS is receiving the award for Top Social Artist, their first trophy coming in 2017. Asian pop dominated the category this year, with BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, and Filipino group SB19 earning nominations alongside Ariana Grande.

Of course, there’s still one award to go: Top Selling Song. With the official 2021 BBMAs ceremony just hours away, fans are hoping “Dynamite” will beat out Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope ft. Charlie Puth,” Cardi B’s “WAP ft. Megan Thee Stallion”, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage ft. Beyoncé” to take home the award tonight.
