BTS has canceled their anticipated second anniversary fan meeting “MUSTER” due to the MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) scare in Korea.
Big Hit Entertainment announced on June 9, “The fan meeting planned to be held on June 13 has been canceled.”
“As we consider fans’ health and safety to be the utmost priority, we have made the decision [to cancel the event],” the agency stated, explaining that their intention is to prevent possible spread of MERS. Big Hit has yet to reschedule the event, and details will be announced at a later date.
The fan meeting was planned to be the highlight of BTS’ second anniversary celebrations and mark the end of their two-week “BTS FESTA.”
Meanwhile, the entertainment industry has responded to the MERS outbreak by canceling and/or postponing public events, including press conferences, shoots, and fan meetings.
