BTS’s RM Sweetly Apologies For Snatching Suga’s Mic At MAMA 2019
Once again, BTS‘s RM is proving that his heart truly is made of gold!
At the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, BTS won a total of 9 awards, including all 4 Daesangs (grand prizes). A hilarious moment between RM and Suga happened during an acceptance speech.
During BTS’s speech for “Artist of the Year”, RM took the mic away from Suga. It’s unclear if Suga was so overcome with emotion that he forgot to pass the mic on, or if RM just didn’t want to wait, but fans loved it.
(So did Jungkook and V!)
After MAMA ended, RM posted a heartfelt thank you letter to fans on Weverse, reflecting on BTS’s journey from their debut to stardom. He started off the letter by sweetly apologizing to Suga.
Thank you everyone, I’m writing this as soon as MAMA ended TT. I think I took the mic away from Yoongi-hyung a little too quickly, and I feel bad about it. I need to learn to wait a little longer. Sorry, Yoongi.
As always, RM knows just what to say to make ARMY emotional.

Every year, I eagerly await the end of the year award shows, and look forward to our performances. I’m so happy that we can have these moments. I remember those days, exactly seven years ago in our living room in Nonhyeon-dong. We’d eat and watch TV, asking ourselves if we’ll ever perform at one of those end of the year award shows.
Looking back over seven years, there were times when it felt like the end of the year season was never ours, and we were always celebrating someone else’s holiday month, and making someone else shine.
But today, I looked around myself and learned that this is, in fact, the season when I receive so much love, too much love, all at once. It gives me the strength to keep going next year. I’m on my way to work out to build up my strength, so that I won’t get tired.
I want to say I love you to everyone, and hug each and every one of you, and say let’s be healthy, and let’s be a little happier.
I love you.
