CJ E&M will be launching new TV channel “XtvN” on January 19, 2018 to target millennials.

The millennial generation, indicating those born from the 1980s to early 2000s, are the key consumers of content from platforms ranging from traditional television to mobile. CJ E&M revealed that XtvN will be a channel specialized in entertainment with the touch of tvN’s uniqueness and production capabilities.

According to CJ E&M, XtvN’s goals to provide unpredictable entertainment, exciting content, various genres and fresh collaboration, as well as multiplied fun are represented within the letter “X” of XtvN.

tvN’s chief director pointed out, “As the next large scale generation following the baby-boom generation, millenials have powerful influence in the content market as trend-setters. We are launching an entertainment-focused channel in hopes to provide a breath of fresh entertainment for those who are living through this current discouraging era.”

He went on to explain, “From XtvN, tvN, to O tvN, we will continue to develop our identities and content quality so that various age groups can enjoy tvN content that suit their taste.”

New shows from XtvN targeting ages 15 to 39 is currently under preparation and will launch around January and February.
