Girl Group Leader And Main Vocalist Is 3rd Member Of Her Group To Impress On “The King Of Mask Singer”
Belle on MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer” was revealed to be the main vocalist of a rising girl group!
The February 10 episode of “The King of Mask Singer” was a Lunar New Year Special where main vocalists from different idol groups battled it out.
Last week, Belle competed against Ji Jasmine, who was revealed to be WJSN’s Yeonjung. After singing Beyoncé’s “Listen” together, the two vocalists then went on to perform solo stages. WJSN’s Yeonjung took on BoA’s “Spark” while Belle performed Naomi’s “The Red.”
After moving onto the second round, Belle took on her next challenge with Pavarotti. During this round, Belle and Pavarotti performed their solo songs, with Pavarotti coming on stage first to perform Yoon Jong Shin’s “Like It” and Belle performing CNBLUE’s “Intuition.”
Although Belle had impressed with her technical vocal skills in the previous round, this week’s episode saw the singer captivating celebrity judges and the audience with her unique rendition of the rhythmical track.
Pavarotti took the win with 60 votes to Belle’s 39 and moved on to the third round.
Belle took off her mask and revealed herself to be Weki Meki’s Ji Suyeon. Following her fellow members Kim Doyeon and Choi Yoojung’s appearances on the show, Ji Suyeon is the third member of Weki Meki to appear on the MBC program.
After revealing her identity, Ji Suyeon commented, “I thought that this looked difficult after seeing Doyeon and Yoojung doing it. I thought about how I should go about performing. I’m glad that I was able to appear [on the show] through a great opportunity. I think I was able to perform with a light heart, so I’m pleased.”
She then continued, “During the duet track, there was a difference in the number of votes, so I thought my solo performance would be my last. There was a twist, though, so it was really exciting.”
Ji Suyeon concluded, “Weki Meki will make it big. Please trust me and become a fan.”
