Goo Hara’s Biological Mother to Claim Half of the Late Star’s Inheritance Following Legal Battle
Goo Hara‘s brother, Goo Ho In recently submitted a legislative petition to the National Assembly in order to enact the “Goo Hara Act”, but the bill did not pass, meaning their biological mother who abandoned them 20 years back when they were young, will claim half of late Goo Hara’s inheritance.
The “Goo Hara Act” was an effort to make a parent who failed to properly protect their direct descendant and fulfill their duties as caregiver ineligibility for inheritance.
Despite Goo Ho In’s fight to prevent his mother from appearing 20 years later just to claim her abandoned daughter’s inheritance, the Legislation and Judiciary Committee made the decision to “continue evaluating”, but considering that this was their final meeting of the 20th assembly, it is assumed that the bill will be terminated.
As a result, the civil code deems Goo Hara’s biological parents as the first choice inheritors, but Goo Hara’s biological father has already transferred his share to Goo Hara’s brother Goo Ho In.
Following Goo Hara’s passing last November, Goo Ho In fought to prevent their biological mother from claiming half of her inheritance by claiming that she abandoned them at a young age and only appeared at Goo Hara’s funeral to demand her assets.
Goo Ho In has expressed that he plans on reattempting to pass the bill during the 21st Assembly.
