Idol School first aired in 2017. As revealed previously, both Idol School and the Produce 101 series were charged for unfair treatment and votes manipulation. As the first round of trials opened this week, it was revealed that three members from the debut group, fromis_9, were rigged in.

Not only were the first rankings on the show revealed to have been manipulated, on the final rankings, three girls were pushed into the debut group by vote manipulation. This displaced three deserving candidates from the debut team. The fraudulent votes cheated about 69,000 paying voters for profits estimated to be around ₩15,000,000 KRW ($13,500 USD).

fromis_9 debuted on 24 January 2018, with a lineup including Jang Gyuri, No Jisun, Song Hayoung, Lee Saerom, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, Park Jiwon, Lee Seoyeon and Baek Jiheon. It was highly speculated that popular contestant, Lee Haein, was supposed to be in the final lineup given her previous popularity with Produce 101.

The next trial is scheduled for 14 January 2021. Stay tuned!
