When it comes to human empowerment and loving yourself for who you really are, female group MAMAMOO is definitely an inspiration.

…you know that MAMAMOO is really serious about sending the message that accepting yourself and not caring about what other people think is really important for your happiness.

Their song lyrics isn’t their only contribution to empowering the youth. Best friends Wheein and Hwasa have also confessed their honest opinions about the idea of “beauty standards” and “ideal weight” in several occasions.

For example, during one of Wheein’s live broadcasts, she told her fans that she only looked like she lost weight because of the angle.

Wheein also added that it doesn’t matter if she gained weight, or if she lost weight, because she’s still her, so she really doesn’t care.

Hwasa also has a special message when it comes to today’s beauty standards: if she can’t fit in, she’ll make a new one. Girl power, indeed!

Perhaps the reason why these two have been close friends for more than 10 years now is because they have the same belief system — they both believe that weight is not important.

And for them, you need to prioritize your happiness instead of a random number on your weighing scale.

Finally, Hwasa shared one of the “truths” that she lives by, which is to “make the clothes fit you” and not the other way around.

Wheein also has another beautiful message — this time, towards the LGBT+ community. Check out what she has to say in the next article below:
