Super Junior’s Ryeowook will be the MC for KBS’s music variety show, “A Song For You,” now in its fifth season with a new mobile format.

Ryeowook was discharged from the military in July. “A Song For You” will be his first return to a variety show in a long time. “A Song For You” is a program where fans can send their story and request a song that they would like to hear from the celebrity that they like. Then the star would read the story and perform the song just for that person. Season one premiered in 2013, and the latest season aired in 2015 on channels like KBS 2TV and KBS World.

Ryeowook said, “I accepted the MC position because I wanted to get closer to fans all around the world as a member of one of the representing K-pop idol groups in Korea. I’m already curious to find out what kind of stories fans would share with us.”

The production team of “A Song For You” picked Ryeowook’s sincerity towards fans as one of the reasons why they selected him as the MC. Ryeowook gained popularity as an MC hosting the radio show “Super Junior’s Kiss The Radio” between 2013 and 2016, with listeners praising for his warm voice and humor.

Season five of “A Song For You” will be available on the KBS AS4U channel on YouTube and the official KBS app, MyK, starting October 19. The program will have a two week gap between an episode’s broadcast online and on KBS World channel. The production team said that they will mainly use the YouTube channel to communicate with fans. Viewers can search “KBS AS4U” on YouTube to share their stories and songs to their favorite groups.
