SHINee’s Key has officially announced the date of his upcoming military enlistment.
Earlier this month, SM Entertainment confirmed that Key had submitted an application to fulfill his mandatory military service by serving in the military band, and that if his application were accepted, he would enlist in March of this year.
On January 25, the agency officially announced, “SHINee’s Key has been accepted into the military band and is planning to enlist on March 4.”
As of March 4, Key will become the second member of SHINee to enlist in the military, following Onew‘s enlistment last December.
SM Entertainment also confirmed earlier this month that Minho was planning to enlist sometime “in the first half of this year,” with a source at the agency speculating, “It seems likely that Key and Minho will both enlist around the same time.”
Prior to his enlistment, Key will be making his silver-screen debut in the upcoming film “Hit and Run,” which will premiere on January 30. The SHINee member will also be holding his first Korean solo concert “THE AGIT: KEY LAND — KEY” in February.
