Back in 2017, Billboard stated that BTS made it this far because of social power. Three years later, Billboard’s views on BTS have changed drastically. In 2020, Billboard revealed that BTS is history themselves as they continue to make their way up in the world of pop.

There are only 11 non-English albums that have topped the Billboard 200 and five of them are BTS. This is only the beginning as BTS continues to rewrite the 62-year history of Billboard.

To put it in simpler terms, there are five major historic accomplishments made by BTS on Billboard. The first would be to top 3 Billboard charts at the same time. They topped the Billboard 200 with their album BE, topped the Hot 100 with their title track “Life Goes On”, and topped the Artist 100 as BTS.

Second, they are the first group in Billboard history to top the Billboard Hot 100 with a Korean song.

Third, seven tracks from their BE album took a spot in the Hot 100 chart. “Life Goes On” at number 1, “Dynamite” at number 3, “Blue & Grey” at number 13, “Stay” at number 22, “Fly to my Room” at number 69, “Telepathy” at number 70, and “Dis-ease” at number 72.

And lastly, they made a triple hit song accomplishment, with three of their songs, “Dynamite”, “Savage Love” Remix, and “Life Goes On”, taking over the Hot 100 chart in just a span on 3 months. This is the first time since The Beatles 42 years ago that this has happened.

BTS has now gone from worldwide stars to worldwide steady-sellers. The Billboard charts are living proof of this. Currently, “Dynamite” has gone from number 1, 1, 2, 2,2 1, 2, 2, 5, 7, 12, 16, 17, 14, and 3 on the chart.

The reason the world believes and listens to BTS is due to their ability to empathize and listen to what others are going through. BTS is a group that understands that comfort brings hope. From their newest album BE, we can feel and experience their crisis, frustration, comfort and hope. They are taking the consolation they’ve received from ARMY and are giving it back through messages of hope.
