Song Joong Ki Talks About “Running Man” and Lee Kwang Soo’s “Descendants of the Sun” Cameo
While in Hong Kong with Song Hye Kyo to promote their hit drama “Descendants of the Sun,” actor Song Joong Ki sat down for an interview with a local media outlet.
During the interview, Song Joong Ki was asked to pick which moment was the most memorable from filming the show, and he replies that it was shooting his best friend Lee Kwang Soo’s cameo.
“He hadn’t slept at all because he filmed ‘Running Man’ the night before, but he still truly did his best for us,” says Song Joong Ki. “Even though he’s my friend, I was really touched and grateful.”
Song Joong Ki was a member of the original cast of “Running Man” alongside Lee Kwang Soo, and fans have often called for his return to the show, either as a member or a guest. When asked about possibly making an appearance as a guest, Song Joong Ki says, “I would go on the show at any time.” He adds, “‘Running Man’ is like my hometown to me. If I have the opportunity, I’d like to appear on the show.”
Recently, a fan photoshopped Lee Kwang Soo’s face onto Song Hye Kyo’s head in hilarious posters for “Descendants of the Sun,” which naturally went viral once they were shared online. Song Joong Ki says he was shocked when he saw the posters himself. He comments, “When I saw them from far away I thought it was Song Hye Kyo, but when I got up closer it was Lee Kwang Soo. They don’t look at all alike, though. When I think about it now, it’s a good memory.”
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are expected to be returning from Hong Kong to Korea on April 10.
