Soyou Talks About How She Got Lee Dong Wook To Star In Her MV
Soyou has shared how her recent collaboration with singer Sung Si Kyung and actor Lee Dong Wook came about!
On December 13, the former SISTAR member held a showcase for her first solo album “RE:BORN,” featuring the title track “The Night.” In addition to performing her new songs from the album, she also talked about her pre-release track “I Still,” a duet with Sung Si Kyung.
Soyou revealed that she had repeatedly asked the ballad singer to work together, saying, “I sent a lot of ‘love calls’ to Sung Si Kyung. My fans also said many times that they thought it would be great if the two of us sang together. Because he agreed, we ended up working together [on the song].”
She also explained how she had arranged for Lee Dong Wook to star in the music video for the duet. While appearing as a guest at the actor’s fan meeting earlier this year, Soyou asked him to promise to make an appearance in one of her future music videos.
“I asked him to make an appearance because of our ‘Goblin‘ connection,” said the singer, referring to her contribution to the OST of the tvN drama “Goblin,” in which Lee Dong Wook starred.
She went on, “I visited the set of the music video during filming to cheer him on. I’d like to use this opportunity to give my thanks to Lee Dong Wook.”
Soyou also shared, “Sung Si Kyung and Lee Dong Wook both sent me messages of support today telling me to do well.”
