In the latest issue of Vogue Korea, the members of TXT elaborated on their group’s name and what it means to them! TXT stands for Tomorrow X Together and is said to mean “different people coming together under one dream in hopes of building a better tomorrow.” The interviewer asked each member what this “one dream” refers to, according to them.

I think the greatest dream is promoting music so that at least one person can relate to our songs and feel comforted. We’re still just beginning. If that dream is 100, I think we’re at about a 3.

Taehyun also spoke about the group’s second anniversary, which is March 4. He commented that most people want to succeed quickly, but he doesn’t want to rush. “I think that if my members feel pressured while promoting, they won’t be happy, and that will be a problem.” He added, “I think we’re going at a pace where the members can feel happy.

My dream is for many people to become happy through our songs or performances. I felt this during our comeback show and I feel it on Weverse, but there are a lot of people whose minds or bodies are hurt. They always say to us, ‘I’ve been keeping strong and enduring by listening.’ There’s nothing that makes me feel more proud.

Yeonjun briefly discussed his bold fashion sense, explaining that he would love to try wearing skirts next. “Recently, I saw actor Bong Tae Gyu [of ‘The Penthouse’] wear a skirt, and I thought it was so cool.” He complimented, “His mindset is cool too. He’s right in asking who decided that this was women’s clothing and that was men’s.

When the interviewer mentioned the group’s cover of SHINee‘s “Sherlock,” Yeonjun quickly responded. He confessed that he used to be terrible at dancing, to the point where he was the worst student at his dance academy. He shared, “However, I hated losing to others and being a nuisance, so I practiced really hard.

He was asked why he wanted to dance if he was so bad at it. Yeonjun candidly told the interviewer that he never really consistently worked hard at anything in his life. Dance just happened to be that one activity that he thought would make him really happy.

Personal happiness comes first. After that, my dream is to live a long, happy life as a singer with all of the members. Regardless of the results, I think we just need to be happy and have fun. When we first debuted, I’d constantly watch the views of our videos, but now I don’t pay attention to the results.

Soobin also shared the anxieties he had when the group first debuted. He often questioned, “‘Is there something about me that other people would like? Who would like me? Can I debut like this?’” However, after their debut was extremely successful, he gained a lot of confidence.

I didn’t want to talk about anything related to my physical appearance. I was thankful that [the fans] were changing my insecurities into positivities. I used to think of myself as someone who was mature with a tough mentality. However, after debuting, I realized I was young and inexperienced.

When I was a trainee, my [one] dream was debuting. I thought we all fit with the theme of TXT because we all have strong and unique individuality. But because of that, when we first met, we didn’t mesh at all, because people different than us were insisting that they were right. For our one dream of debuting, we all had to begin compromising for each other.

—Beomgyu

He added that they are now expanding on that dream, whether it’s becoming a role model or writing a song. Beomgyu’s recent ambition is songwriting. He explained, “It’s because I can express myself. Honestly, saying you’re having a hard time is difficult to do. However, you can express that through a song.

[The one dream] means becoming an artist that will remain in people’s memory forever. I want to move people’s hearts through music.

—Huening Kai

TXT’s unique concepts are gorgeous and amazingly intricate, but that can sometimes make them pretty confusing. Huening Kai picked “Can’t You See Me?” as the song he thought was the most difficult to understand. He explained that the vibe was very dark and confused him all the way up until filming. He then realized that it was connected to “Crown” and “Run Away.” He further explained, “After experiencing growing pains, they ventured into a time of happiness, but realized they were at a wall. That wall was adulthood. I interpreted it as being afraid to climb the wall.

Huening Kai also explained why he might fall for each of his members if he was a fan. He said that Beomgyu feels like a character from a manhwa, which makes him very charming. Soobin is naive and gullible, which makes him an easy target for pranks. Taehyun is wise but can also be really emotional and shy, which Huening Kai thinks is cute. Finally, he loves to compliment Yeonjun because he gets timid with praise.
