Despite very strong competition from a couple of new songs, miss A managed to stay on top for another week with “Goodbye Baby”. The song has a score of 946, only nine points lower than last week.  It has been showing the most consistent scores among all our sources and therefore deserves for another week on top.

Infinite has their first taste of the top three when “Be Mine” moves up to No. 2. It is nearly 100 points below the No. 1 song, and new songs are expecting to overtake them. But most fans will agree that they will take the second spot this time and hopefully to build on it and do one better next time for this rising group.

As I mentioned, two new songs with potential to jump to No, 1 next week.  Debuting at No. 3, the highest chart debut all this year is 2NE1’s album title song “Ugly”. As we predicted last week, “Hate You” was just in the chart for one week and replaced by “Ugly”. Despite being a relatively new song, “Ugly” already swept all music shows in Korea last week and is poised to be the No. 1 song here next week.  “Ugly” is a listener friendly mid-tempo ballad that should please mainstream fans, reminding us of “I Don’t Care” and “Can’t Nobody”.

Another new song that will instantly become a No. 1 contender for next week is Super Junior’s “Mr. Simple”.  Super Junior just made their long awaited return to k-pop with their 5th album “Mr. Simple”.  The title song with the same name debuts at No. 9 this week and it is already starting to win in music shows.  Look for this song to challenge “Goodbye Baby” and “Ugly” next week.

Not to be overshadowed by the brand new debut songs from top artists, the other new song in the top 10 is Teen Top’s first ever top 10 hit “Don’t Spray Perfume”. Teen Top was in the top 20 before with “Clap”. This time with the help of Hitman Bang who wrote this song, the group finally have a top 10 hit under their belt.  Congratulations.

Album: Jinusean Vol. 3 (2001) Track 2
Watch: MV
Comment: Jinusean is a hip-hio duo from YG Entertainment. Consisting of members Jinu and Sean, they debuted in 1997 with the song “Gasoline.” Jinusean pursues hip-hop music incorporated with beats of funk.  This genre was the cutting edge back in the days but very common now.  We can say Jinusean is one of the groups who laid the foundation with many of today’s artists.  A-yo was the title song from the duo’s third album in 2001.  This song not only have hip-hop and funk but also traditional element as it sampled part of Korean folk song “Arirang”.  It was a big hit ten years ago.
