Wonder Girls Reported to Make a Comeback with Sunye and Sunmi, JYP Responds
According to an exclusive report by Sports DongA, girl group Wonder Girls are preparing to make a long-awaited return to the music scene after three years.
On June 22, a music industry insider is reported to have revealed that the Wonder Girls members recently wrapped up final productions for their new song and are planning to begin filming for their music video soon.
As music video filming usually marks the final stage of gearing up for a comeback, it is expected that the group will release the new song as early as July or August at the latest.
If all things go as planned, this will be the Wonder Girls’ first comeback in three years, since releasing their last mini album “Wonder Party” in June of 2012.
This news is gaining even more attention, as Sunmi and Sunye are reported to be joining this comeback as a five-member group. It is also said that Sunye recently returned to Korea from Canada.
JYP Entertainment has responded to the reports on June 23: “Nothing related to Wonder Girls’ comeback has been decided. We are aware that Sunye has returned to Korea for personal reasons. It is not for the preparation of Wonder Girls’ comeback.”
